Laboratory Services
Tests not performed in our labs are referred to qualified reference laboratories. Under the direction of board-certified pathologists, our highly-skilled technologists work in a modern, computerized lab. We provide a full range of services to inpatients and outpatients. Within our full-service laboratory are the following departments, with a brief explanation of their varied functions: Phlebotomy - the collection of blood from the patient; Processing - the distribution of the specimen for testing; Hematology - a measurement of red blood cells and blood clotting factors as well as urinalysis; Chemistry - a test of the serum of blood for different analytes; Blood Bank - typing the patient for donated blood from the Red Cross Blood Center.
